From President

   Greetings all,

Well, it's the end of another year and you know what that means; the holidays have arrived and your current MOS president is departing. That's right, MOS'ers - no more having to read my silly columns, listen to my stale jokes, and quietly watch as I stumble through another meeting - think of it as an early present from me to you! After two wonderful years of life as president I happily turn the reins over to Alex Kumok. Congratulations (or condolences?) to Alex and Doug Mallory who were elected to President and Vice President, respectively. These two stalwarts of the MOS, along with Laura Evans as Recording Stylist and Adrian Giles as Treasurer, will no doubt lead the MOS to ever greater glory!

Rumor has it the Holiday Party was a raging success and many thanks to Peggy and Debra Baker for graciously serving as hostesses. The Rowland clan unfortunately was out of town which no doubt saved me a small fortune in not being able to bid on the vast array of auction items available. Many thanks again to the Baker household and to all who brought food, drink, and items to auction. On a more serious note and since this will be my last column, I want to thank everyone who has made the last two years a wonderful experience. Each and every member of the MOS has not only made me feel at home as president, but also made the job an easy one. However, I would like to extend a very special "thank you" to my lovely bride, Virginia. She has good naturedly been the center of many of my jokes, complained only mildly when I brought home armfuls of "door prizes", and has worked tirelessly with mixed results to keep me from making an even greater fool of myself. Thanks to all of you and her!!!

Michael Rowland, MOS President

Holiday Party

A great time was had by all at the MOS Annual Holiday Party hosted this year by Peggy & Debra Baker! Special thanks to them for opening their beautiful home to the MOS thundering herd! Treasurer Adrian Giles reports that 14 members renewed at the party (have you sent in your renewal yet?) and that the auction raised $303.69 (Yeah, the .69 is right. Don't know why someone would add that, but every penny counts.)
